Essays:

All students in Michigan State University's (MSU) Master of Arts in Education (MAED) program are required to take the course ED 870: Capstone Seminar as their last (or second to last) course. This is because the course is meant to be an opportunity to reflect on all that you have accomplished throughout the program and create something tangible - this online portfolio. In addition to the portfolio, I was also challenged to reflect on my goals and synthesize my overall experience by completing three distinct essays.

The following essays provide additional insight into my growth, goals, and future plans.

Reflection on changing goals. Identification and description of original goals, as stated in application to MAED program. Evaluation of how and why goals changed (or didn't) as a result of the MAED experience.

Reflection on professional goals and necessary future steps. Identification and description of goals and key areas to continue exploring. Evaluation of how and why learning about the topics will enhance professional practice and facilitate achievement of goals.

Reflection synthesizing overall experience in MSU's MAED program. Identification and description of main takeaways. Evaluation of three most influential courses and their impact on professional practice.
